AI Vision, Smart Future: The 4th Shenzhen International Eyewear Expo Opens a New Chapter for the AI Glasses Industry

On June 16, the 4th Shenzhen International Eyewear Expo & the inaugural 2026 AI Glasses Expo grandly opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center (Futian). With the theme “AI Vision, Smart Future,” the three‑day event is organized by the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce and the Shenzhen AI Glasses Industry Alliance. Covering a total exhibition area of 22,500 square meters – including 7,500 square meters dedicated to AI glasses – the expo brings together over 300 international buying groups, connects with 80,000 eyewear retail stores nationwide, and attracts more than 300 leading domestic and international companies, with an expected professional audience exceeding 50,000 visitors. This is China’s first professional exhibition focused on the entire AI glasses industry chain.

Shenzhen boasts over 40 years of eyewear manufacturing heritage – one out of every two high‑end glasses frames worldwide is made here. As the country’s core eyewear production hub, Longgang District alone produces 125 million pairs of glasses annually, accounting for more than 50% of the global high‑end market share. Now, Shenzhen is leveraging its robust smart device manufacturing base and AI application ecosystem to transition from the “global capital of high‑end eyewear manufacturing” to the “world’s first city for AI glasses.” This expo marks a critical milestone in that industrial transformation.

On the show floor, AI smart glasses emerged as the hottest segment. Booths drew dense crowds of visitors, buyers, and business partners eager to experience and discuss the latest products. The exhibits spanned a wide range of application scenarios, including consumer entertainment, industrial manufacturing, healthcare, education, and travel translation. From lightweight audio AI frames and optical waveguide AR glasses to smart glasses for industrial inspection – continuous advances in near‑eye display technology are propelling AI glasses from concept to commercial scale. Major brands such as Huawei, Thunderbird (RayNeo), Lenovo, INMO, iFLYTEK, and ZTE all showcased their latest offerings, with over 50 new products making their debut – covering everyday voice interaction, real‑time translation, high‑definition photography, audio‑visual entertainment, remote collaboration, and more.

The expo is more than a product showcase – it serves as an accelerator for the entire industrial ecosystem. At the opening ceremony, a dedicated AI terminal industry fund of 2 billion RMB (targeting AI glasses) was officially launched. At the same time, the “General Technical Requirements for AI Glasses” standard was released for the first time, and ten leading companies jointly signed the “AI Glasses Trustworthy Vision Self‑Discipline Convention.” The Shenzhen AI Glasses Industry Alliance, together with the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and more than 20 industry chain partners, is advancing the phased development of a comprehensive AI glasses standard system. This signals that the AI glasses industry is moving from “unregulated growth” to a new phase of “standardized governance.”

The expo also featured dedicated new‑product launch sessions, with dozens of new models making their public debut, alongside more than ten concurrent events, including the 2026 AI Glasses Ecosystem Conference (Shenzhen) , the “Fusion & Mirror” China‑Europe Eyewear Design Pioneer Dialogue, and the 2026 Shenzhen International Eyewear (AI) Design Competition. The design competition attracted 3,166 creative submissions from 13 countries and regions, and is becoming a key driver in Shenzhen’s ambition to become the world’s first city for AI glasses.

Notably, the application boundaries of AI glasses are rapidly expanding. Beyond consumer products, customized solutions tailored to specific verticals emerged as a major highlight of the expo. From industrial inspections and remote healthcare to education and training, AI glasses are increasingly moving beyond single‑use entertainment into diverse professional domains. Customized AI glasses for specialized fields such as biomedicine also drew significant attention. Industry experts predicted that Shenzhen is likely to produce several strong brands in niche AI glasses segments.

As a representative Shenzhen‑based smart hardware company, SPAEXI (Shibeixi Technology) showcased its AI camera glasses and AR glasses at the expo. Among them, the V06‑AI Sports Camera Glasses – featuring a full suite of AI capabilities including HD photography, object recognition, and real‑time translation – attracted numerous outdoor enthusiasts and content creators. The V30 PRO Glasses, with their split‑type 3D AR cinema experience and 0–600° diopter adjustment, demonstrated the broad potential of AR glasses for light office work and home entertainment. SPAEXI’s participation reflects the rising strength of “Shenzhen‑made” AI glasses – from children’s vision correction to sports capture, from AI voice interaction to immersive AR viewing, Shenzhen companies are sprinting ahead across every AI glasses segment.

Looking ahead, with the implementation of industry funds, technical standards, ecosystem conferences, and other multi‑dimensional initiatives, AI glasses are accelerating their transition from “tech concept” to “everyday terminal.” When a single pair of glasses can simultaneously handle calls, translation, navigation, photography, a giant AR screen, health monitoring, and more – when traditional optics are deeply fused with AI – we may be just one pair of glasses away from the truly “wearable everything” era. And Shenzhen, the city that already produces over half of the world’s high‑end eyewear, is now writing the next chapter for the AI glasses industry.
